Sing the Musicals!
Jan 26As part of their nationwide tour, former stars of the record breaking international hit musical Les Miserables (and many other West End Shows!) will be performing at the Tivoli Theatre on the Saturday 26th January 2008. They will be presenting “The Masters of the House Sing the Musicals” a stylish, dramatic and often hilarious concert featuring great songs from blockbuster shows such as Miss Saigon, Phantom Of The Opera, Cats, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors, My Fair Lady and many others including, of course, their special tribute to Les Miserables.

Their wonderful repertoire of familiar songs (plus a few that members of the audience may not know) is skillfully woven together with witty backstage stories and theatrical anecdotes giving a unique glimpse behind the scenes of the real world of musical theatre.
“A real treat for all lovers of musical theatre.”

Sounds of the Glenn Miller Era
Feb 2The lights soften, the mood settles. An audience waits for that first moment of sound. The Big Band is poised, relaxed, but with eyes anxious for the lead. Then, as if giving body to an echo, the murmured notes of “Moonlight Serenade”… and the night, it seems, is suddenly full and timeless.
Recapture the sounds and memories of a bygone era as the Nick Ross Orchestra present ‘an unmissable evening of music and song’ – the Classic Big Band Sound of the 1940s.
We are pleased to present a special concert at The Tivoli Theatre, Wimborne on Saturday 2nd February 2008. A selection from the repertoires of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey and Ted Heath will be featured and our concert would not be complete without reference to the songbooks of Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald.
Our Special Guest Vocalist for the evening will be Matthew Ford.
Matthew is from the same mould as the classic singers - Matt Monro, Tony Bennett and the eponymous Frank Sinatra - he has formidable natural talent in front of a live audience.
Matt has gained a large and loyal following throughout the UK during his many years as vocalist with the renowned Syd Lawrence Orchestra.

‘Sounds of the Glenn Miller Era’ commences at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced £15.50 and are available from The Tivoli Theatre Box Office
